"As an artist I am also interested in the question of how can I present the world through the data. A hundred years ago I would be taking photographs of a city. Or maybe I would be painting it in new ways influenced by Impressionism, Fauvism, or Cubism. Now I can represent the city through 2 million Instagram photos. Big data becomes a new media for art. So I think of myself as an artist who is painting with data."
